Every Saturday from now through November 28, Burke Park opens with the same tenant. The Malvern Farmers Market sets up at 9 a.m. and runs until 1 p.m., and the Borough calendar shows no relocation or cancellation for any of the dates when a larger event follows later in the day. The fall events get scheduled around the market instead. On three Saturdays this season, the same lawn on S. Warren Avenue holds the market in the morning and a community event later the same day.
The break between those two shifts gets shorter as the season goes on. On October 17 it is six and a half hours. On October 24 it is two hours. On November 28, Christmas on King starts on King Street an hour before the market packs up. If you plan a fall Saturday in the borough, the main thing to know is how much time you have between the two shifts.
The morning shift that doesn't move
Growing Roots Partners runs the market. The Borough describes it as producer-only, with locally grown produce, cut flowers, grass-fed meats, pasture-raised poultry, eggs, baked goods, local cheeses, honey, local beer and spirits, and pet treats. The season opened May 2, and the Borough calendar lists Saturday markets on October 10, 17, 24 and 31 and on November 7, 14, 21 and 28.
The organizer's market page updates its weekly producer lineup on Monday mornings. A recent week listed Wyebrook Farm, Full Circle CSA, Sunny Acres, Toad Stop Farm, Fungus Aurelius, Freedom Flower Farm, Passionate About Microgreens, Good Girls Bakery, Street Cart Bagels, Vegan Confectionaries, Buenos Aires Empanada Bar, Chuckie B's Meatballs, Jerrys Pickles, Kastania Olive Oil, Taste of Puebla, Beanie's Coffee Company, Hill Road Coffee Roasters and Seven Stars Sharpening. Because that list changes every week, check it before you go if you're shopping for one vendor in particular.
November 28 is the last 2026 market date on the Borough calendar, but no one has called it the season finale. Earlier this year, the Borough listed a January through April Saturday market at Burke Park, running 10 a.m. to noon. Nothing has been announced yet for this winter.
How long the lawn gets between shifts
Here is every remaining Saturday on the Burke Park calendar, with the time between the end of the market and the start of the next event.
| Saturday | Morning at Burke Park | Later that day | Time between |
|---|---|---|---|
| October 10 | Market, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. | Nothing scheduled | Open afternoon |
| October 17 | Market, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. | Movie Night, 7:30 p.m. | 6.5 hours |
| October 24 | Market, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. | MonsterMash, 3 to 6 p.m. | 2 hours |
| October 31 | Market, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. | Nothing scheduled | Open afternoon |
| November 7, 14, 21 | Market, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. | Nothing scheduled | Open afternoon |
| November 28 | Market, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. | Christmas on King, noon on King Street, Burke Park from 4 p.m. | Overlaps by 1 hour downtown, 3-hour gap at the park |
October 17 has the most room. Malvern Borough Parks & Recreation is showing Sarah's Oil at 7:30 p.m., with free admission and free popcorn, and the Borough's notice asks people to "pack your lawn chairs and blankets." The market packs up at 1 p.m., so there's a long afternoon before the lawn fills again. The movie listing runs until 9 p.m.
October 24 is tighter. MonsterMash runs from 3 to 6 p.m., two hours after the market wraps. The Borough lists food trucks, a live concert by Tou le Mon, games, crafts, snacks and Locust Lane Brewery, plus a costume invitation and a playful hint of "maybe... a small parade." Locust Lane's own events calendar lists the brewery's MonsterMash appearance at 7 to 10 p.m., which doesn't match the Borough's listing. The Borough is hosting the event, so 3 to 6 p.m. is the safer time to plan around.
October 31 itself is a plain market Saturday. Halloween falls a week after MonsterMash, and nothing else is on the Borough calendar for Burke Park that day.
November 28, when the shifts overlap
The Saturday after Thanksgiving is the only date this season when the second shift starts before the first one ends. The Malvern Business & Professional Association puts Christmas on King on King Street from noon to 4 p.m. It then moves to Burke Park from 4 to 6 p.m. The listing includes live music, food trucks, a beer garden, Santa and Grinch activities, and a tree lighting, with the organizers asking people to arrive by 4:50 p.m. for it. Locust Lane is listed in the King Street beer garden and at Burke Park.
Here's how the day unfolds:
- 9 a.m. The market opens at Burke Park.
- Noon. Christmas on King starts on King Street while the market is still open.
- 1 p.m. The market closes.
- 4 p.m. The celebration moves to Burke Park.
- 4:50 p.m. Arrive by now for the tree lighting.
- 6 p.m. The event ends.
For one hour, the borough has two events running a short walk apart. If you want both the market and the King Street portion, that noon-to-1 window is when to cross between them. The park itself still gets a three-hour reset before the evening crowd arrives.
What fills the gap hours
Those long afternoons, especially on October 17, overlap with several new food options around town.
The Buttery at 233 E. King St. has added dinner service, with Neapolitan-style pizza and shareable plates. vista.today reported the change on September 12. Because it's on King Street, it's the closest new dinner option to the park for anyone staying downtown between the market and the movie.
EGAWA Japanese Dining held its grand opening on August 8 at 650 Carnegie Blvd., according to vista.today's coverage. It's a drive from downtown rather than a walk, which suits a market-and-movie Saturday with a long afternoon in between.
Locust Lane Craft Brewery at 50 Three Tun Road, Suite 4, is at both of the season's big park events. Its own calendar adds Loyalist Appreciation Nights on Wednesday, October 7, 14, 21 and 28.
There's one opening off the food list. The Wardrobe is scheduled to open on October 8 in the Lincoln Court Shopping Center, which its own site lists as 235 Lancaster Ave., Suite E1-2, and it has been taking pre-opening donations on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Patch lists a slightly different street number and donation start time, so the shop's own site is the better reference before you drop anything off. As of today, that opening date is still a schedule, not a confirmed opening.
The weeknight shift, and the park being built next
Burke Park's calendar isn't limited to Saturdays. Bluegrass Jam Sessions take over the park on Tuesday, October 13, from 6:45 to 9:15 p.m. The Friday before, October 9, the CRC Watershed Tree Planting brings volunteers to Applebrook Park.
Right now, Burke Park hosts almost every Borough gathering on the fall calendar. Randolph Woods Nature Preserve is set to give the Borough a second gathering space. Phase 1 includes an accessible stone loop trail, a pedestrian bridge, a boardwalk, a viewing platform, a pavilion and picnic area, nature-play features, benches, bike racks, signs and landscaping. In its September update, the Borough said the boardwalk was complete and the bridge was nearly finished, and that crews would move on to the pavilion and nature-play area next. The preserve is open during construction. Visitors are asked to follow posted signs and stay clear of active work areas, and work is expected to continue through fall 2026. The Borough's project page is the place to watch for a completion date, since none has been announced. Patch has identified the entrance as Ruthland Avenue.
Here's what's on the public record about the money. A 2023 DEP Growing Greener award gave the Borough $324,800 for Randolph Woods improvements, and a $62,500 DCNR award was reported in February 2026 minutes. Together that's $387,300. On February 17, 2026, Borough Council accepted Flyway Excavating's Phase 1 bid of $843,042. At that February meeting, a resident asked when and where the full project budget would be posted.
Until the pavilion is finished, Burke Park keeps its double shift. The market runs in the morning, the community event comes later in the day, and November 28 is the one Saturday when they overlap.
